On Wednesday, August 7, Class XXV will officially begin their year. The day will begin with the Ropes Course at Columbia Park, and will end with a reception where they will meet the board and their session directors, and learn what to expect from the coming year.
The following Friday, they will travel to Wenatchee for the retreat. They will learn more about each other and the program, although this is only the beginning. Throughout the next nine months, they will attend ten sessions days, receive leadership development training, plan and execute a community service project, and develop deep personal relationships that will hopefully remain with them for the rest of their lives. They will learn about the Tri-Cities, each other, and themselves.
Class XXV consists of representatives from Kadlec Medical Center, Kennewick School District, Richland School District, CHPRC, Communities in Schools, City of Pasco, Lamb Weston, Energy Northwest, Columbia Basin College, Visit Tri-Cities, Community Action Connections, Cisco Systems, Green2Go, Numerica Credit Union, NE Technical Services, Columbia Basin College Foundation, Lifetime Dental Care, and Battelle-PNNL.
