Six Questions with Mayra

Question 1: What excites you most about Leadership Tri-Cities?

Learning to purposely navigate what it means to be a leader, learning how to motivate my team to set and meet our team goals. 

Question 2: If you could meet one person, who would it be? 

Estee Lauder – how did she successfully create an empire as a woman in the 1940’s.

Question 3: What word or sentence would people close to you use to describe you?

Outgoing.

Question 4: What is one project you would be excited to work on in the Tri-Cities?

It’s essential to provide mental health support for everyone, especially our teens, to help them navigate the challenges they face. Additionally, I’m passionate about working with disadvantaged migrant children in schools, as well as exploring opportunities to offer evening education or internet access for migrant farmworkers, empowering them to take courses after work to enhance their livelihoods if they choose.

Question 5: My favorite spot in the Tri-Cities is:

Sitting by the water at any location throughout the Tri, whether at a restaurant, a park, or a canyon overseeing Ice Harbor Dam.

Question 6: Something that deserves more recognition in the Tri-Cities is:

Tri-Cities deserves recognition for everything it offers—from being a hub of agricultural innovation and scientific research to its rich cultural diversity, strong sense of community, and access to outdoor recreation.
